Protecting India’s forests requires rapid response, accurate situational awareness, and technology that performs reliably in extreme conditions. Aerosight Technologies recently partnered with the Tamil Nadu Forest Department to conduct a specialized wildfire-response and surveillance pilot training program—equipping frontline staff with advanced drone-based capabilities.
As part of this initiative, Aerosight deployed its rugged Agnihara Firefighting Drone, while technical training was delivered in collaboration with RNR Unmanned Aerial Systems. Forest personnel were trained in real-scenario exercises involving hotspot detection, thermal imaging, rapid fire assessment, and precision water/retardant deployment methods.
Participants learned how drones can safely reach high-risk zones, map fire boundaries, and provide real-time intelligence during firefighting missions. Agnihara’s endurance and temperature-resilient engineering made it an ideal platform for forest operations.
This collaboration demonstrates how UAV systems can significantly enhance conservation efforts, reduce response times, and support teams working in challenging terrains. Aerosight remains committed to contributing towards stronger disaster-management frameworks and enabling drone adoption across India’s forest & environmental sectors.
